A fine powdered green tea from Uji, Japan that produces a sweet, buttery, and oceanic taste. The tea leaves are shaded during the last weeks of the growing season to promote a full flavor and vibrant green color. The plucked leaves are steamed, dried and rapidly cooled. The leaves are cut, deveined and dried again before stone grinding to a fine powder. The process creates a smooth, almost creamy cup of tea that is naturally sweet and mildly rich. It is ideally prepared with a bamboo whisk and matcha (chawan) bowl, but can also be used in a variety of drinks, shakes, and smoothies.
